Story
I will be running the London Marathon 2023 in memory of my dad, Neil, who sadly passed away in May 2022 shortly after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. I will be raising money for Weldmar Hospice who provided end of life support at home to him, and also helped my Mum through an extremely tough time.
Dad was fortunate enough to receive support from the lovely Lou from Weldmar. I cannot express how grateful my Mum, Jamie and I were for her support throughout - Dad thoroughly enjoyed her visits, they always had so much to chat about, and she always put a smile on Dad's face. She was also there to hold Dad's hand, and look after Mum, when the time came for Dad to leave us. I will forever be thankful for her love, kindness and support.
It is for this reason that I am so excited to have been offered a charity place for London and the opportunity to raise funds for Weldmar, so that people like Lou can continue to provide their vital services.
This will be one of my biggest challenges to date, so any donations no matter how small, will really help to motivate me in all the training that's to come (particularly over the winter months!)
Thank you so much in advance.
Hannah xx
