In January ICS are sending me to Kilifi in Kenya and be involved in a education based (woop woop!) project for 3 months. I will live within a community at a host home and will also be part of a larger team of volunteers.

The aims of ICS and VSO is to only help those who ask for help and to ensure the help which is provided is sustainable. When me and my team leave the improvements will continue as nessacery training will be given and the local commuinity will continue the work that we started.

Why donations?!? I hear you cry!

Well ICS fund my expenses such as flights, vaccinations and even a weekly living allowance but VSO the charity I will be working for still need resourses to make it all happen out there in Kenya. In addition my fundrising will enable more volunteers from the UK and from developing countries to become ICS volunteers in the future and have a real sustainable impact in some of the worlds most impoverished communities.
