Story
We are finally going!- But we need your help!!!
On the 4th June 2011 we are flying to Uganda to take up voluntary posts with the River of Life (http://www.riveroflifeuganda.org/).
We plan to work in Masaka for three months in a number of different areas, including in our profession roles as Physiotherapists. Four of the main areas we aim to support are:
Ball Line Academy: supporting the ‘life skills’ element of the ministry to promote healthy living and good physical discipline, as well as providing a physiotherapy sports clinic.
White Eagle Project: participate in evening sessions with both the boys and girls.
Reconciliation: joining a Medical Mission to Gulu (North Uganda), with E3 Partners, which involves using medical skills, sport and outreach into the local community.
Community Outreach: help develop a new programme using experience from Gulu and in partnership with Kitovu Hospital that integrates our existing sports, evangelism and hospital ministries, potentially incorporating a new Community-based Health Programme, including Nutrition, Hygeine, Healthy living.
Were really excited about starting our adventure and we look forward to everything we will learn and experience during our stay. We are also very much looking forward to the opportunity to serve the people in Uganda using our skills as Physiotherapists.
Please help us to make the biggest impact possible!
We will miss all of our friends and family in the UK loads but we will soon be back!
