Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you may know, my mum fell ill on 24th December 2019. She continued through Christmas Day but knew something wasn’t right. She first went into hospital on the 28th December, where she was sent home after 3 nights, then to be re-admitted on the 2nd January.

Mum spent the next 3 months in hospital, between Blackburn and Lancaster. After her final prognosis of terminal cancer on 13th March, she was released from hospital, and allowed to come home to live her last few weeks in the comfort of her own surroundings. Something she desperately wanted.

She was on 24 hour medication with the district nurses coming in each day to check on her. Unfortunately mum couldn’t live out her last days at home, she needed more and more medication and was admitted to St Johns Hospice in Lancaster.

It is an amazing place and they really cared for mum as well as my family. I could not thank them enough for looking after mum in her last few days, and offering our family support.

They can only offer their service because of donations from the public. I would like to raise as much money as possible to simply say thank you.
