We provide specialist nurses to support families affected by dementia

Story

On the 3rd of April 2022 I'll be taking part in the London Landmark half marathon to raise money for Dementia UK. My Grandma, Audrey, was diagnosed with Dementia in 2013. Since then we have slowly witnessed the deterioration of the most caring and loving Mother, Sister and Grandma who we love so dearly. The nature of Dementia can be so cruel to those who are diagnosed but also to those who care for them. We have also cherished the positive moments within the last 8 years, not taking for granted the cheeky winks, whistling and walks up the corridors of her home.

Even in this late stage of her dementia there are small snippets of her personality and caring smile that keep us going. This challenge will not be easy as I'm definitely no runner however holding onto the memories pre and post dementia diagnosis will get me round! Any money raised will go to supporting those who have dementia and their families.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
