Story
Hi! My name is Hannah Sidford and I'm 14. I’ve recently become a keen cyclist and hope you can help me to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. For this I’ll be doing a hard solo biking challenge (with family back-up) on May 30th and 31st this year.
This challenge is called C2C, which stands for ‘coast to coast’ or ‘sea to sea’. It crosses Britain from the Irish Sea to the North Sea and it includes several major hills in the Lake District and Pennines. I aim to complete the 140 mile route in two days.
To help me prepare I have been training a lot with Cycle Stars, a youth cycling club in Gloucester, plus some other long rides.
Teenage Cancer Trust charity helps young people who are being affected by cancer. Every single day 10 teenagers are diagnosed with cancer in the UK alone. Teenagers who get cancer only have an 86% survival rate and can feel very ill during treatment. When a teenager has cancer it also has an effect on their family, friends, schooling, and financial situation.
Teenage Cancer Trust pays for specialised workers, hospital units and youth workers to support teenagers and their families throughout their treatment. By riding the C2C I hope to raise as much money for them as I can, and I would really appreciate your donations.
Thank you.
