Story
Innovista is a Christian charity working across Ukraine, Siberia and Central Asia.
They are currently supporting church leaders in Ukraine who have pledged to stay and serve, “come what may”.
Innovista’s Ukraine response fund will directly support churches in providing essential items for Ukrainian refugees both in Ukraine and across the border in Moldova where many have fled.
Here’s some examples of how grants have been used so far:
In Kyiv- pastors have bought food and medicine for the vulnerable, and mattresses for those sleeping in shelters.
In L’viv, churches have been converted into transit centres, with meeting places turned into dormitories. A network of Baptist churches are providing 700 beds a night. Innovista have contributed food and bedding
In Chisinău, Moldova, essential supplies have been bought with a grant made to churches receiving and caring for refugees. Moldova is Europe’s poorest nation and has received more refugees, per capita, than any other nation.
Bucha, a railway town just north of Kyiv, has been the scene of intense fighting. A grant to the church there meant they could support 130 people living in the church basement.
Over the past month, the crisis has been fast- paced, unpredictable and devastating. Yet local Innovista teams have been in a position to help.
