Story
The Sugar Soirée brings CHI supporters together to celebrate the strength of the community and to raise funds to improve the lives of children and adults born with congenital hyperinsulinism (HI) and their families. CHI is a global lifeline to those born with (HI). CHI supports research for better treatments and cures and is the foremost advocate for increased awareness and better medical protocols for HI to reduce preventable brain damage and death from prolonged hypoglycemia.
In honor of this year's Sugar Soirée, my friends and I on the Junior Committee are teaming up to raise $10,000 to support CHI’s Emergency Fund, which will grant funding directly to families to help ease the financial burden of having a child or family member with HI. These funds may be used to cover the cost of medicine, blood sugar testing supplies, travel to receive expert care, or any other expenses associated with HI.
When my brother Ben was diagnosed with HI, we were able to gain access to the high quality medical care he needed in order to grow up to be a thriving adult. I'm raising funds so that other children with HI are able to do the same.
Thanks so much for your support!
Love,
Hannah
