Story
Friday 25th June is 'Go Yellow for Shine' day, and coincidentally is the same day Ella will be undergoing Spinal surgery to detether her spine. Therefore we thought it would be especially fitting to take part and would love if you would make a small donation and join us in wearing yellow that day too. This helps spread awareness of Spina bifida and also raises money to support Shine, the Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus charity.
Ella has a lipomyomeningocele, which is a closed form of Spina bifida, and basically means her spine is tethered to a fatty lump at the base of her back. This can impact her bladder, bowel and legs, however detethering the spine will hopefully limit the damage caused.
Shine provides specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional care staff. Shine enables people to get the best out of life.Everything we do is made possible by our generous supporters. Your fundraising efforts help individuals and families in your local communities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Every donation has the potential for profound impact.THANK YOU for supporting Shine!
