Story
I entered the London Marathon ballot in 2018 & secured my place for the race in 2019. I was then pregnant/dealing with a newborn Alexander so deferred my place. Then Covid hit anyway….and after a few cancellations (covid) a couple of deferrals (pregnant with Arthur, then not fancying an October marathon) I’m finally here. Remarkably not injured & having managed to complete my training plan without too many hiccups.
I’m convinced the hardest part of running a marathon is the training, I will be absolutely relieved when it’s over & I can just ‘go for a run’ without any of the added pressure (I’ve put on myself).
I have decided it’d be nice to raise a bit of money for The Schools Consent Project. Knowing I’ve raised some money for this charity might help me get through the final 6miles…
Having watched Prima Facie & the introduction to this charity I hope all teenage children in the UK receive education from them. I believe what they are doing is so important & I hope will assist in some way to creating better respect & knowledge amongst teenagers.
In summary they are a charity dedicated to educating and empowering young people to understand and engage with the issues surrounding consent and sexual assault.
Oh, and if you want to see how boring I’ve been since 1st Jan you can follow my progress on Strava!
