I am digging my trainers from out the back of the cuboard to do the brutal Great North Run, now you know running is not my strong point but am doing it for an amazing charity and in memory of a beautiful little girl that I was very privlidged to know.

In October 2011 Niamh was welcomed to the world, she was perfect and beautiful and never failed to put a smile on anyones face. Niamh was born with Hirschsprung's disease which meant she had to spend time in hospital for a prolonged period due to operations and illness. When she was in hospital Crawford house at the RVI gave Niamhs parents(Chris and Siobhan) a place to stay near the hospital so they could be with their daughter longer and get to her quicker should anything have happened. Crawford house is ran by the Sick Childrens Trust and helps so many families by enabling them to stay close to their child when they have to spend time in hospital.

Unfortunately and suddenley Niamh died a week before her first birthday. She was in the world for such a short time but as left such an imprint on the people who knew her and will live in our memories forever. She was such a fighter and through all the pain she never stoped smiling.She is the reason why me, Liam, Chris and Siobhan are running the Great North Run for the Sick Childrens Trust so they can keep supporting parents whose children are in hospital by giving them a place to stay for as long as they need for free so they can focus all of their attention and worries on the most important person in their life.
