As many of you know on 3 November 2018 one of my closest friends Katie lost her 17 month battle of bowel cancer, just 3 weeks before her 40th Birthday. Throughout the 17 months, she was nothing but strong, positive & always had a smile despite having experienced extreme lows, but not once did she stop fighting or felt that the cancer was going to defeat her. She is one of the strongest people I’ve had the pleasure of having in my life & because of her my life is richer. To me Katie was a true life warrior & I’ll always cherish the memories I have of our times together.
She has always been so proud of what I’ve achieved whilst fighting my own personal battle with Crohn’s. After two years of not being able to participate due to my own health conditions and COVID-19, all being well on Saturday 7 August, I will be participating in the London Triathlon in her honour & to raise money & awareness for Bowel Cancer UK.
They are the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. They fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
Please donate & support as much as you can afford for this worthy cause & to help find a cure for bowel cancer.
