Thanks so much for visiting my Just Giving page for the Virgin London Marathon. As you probably know I will be running/dragging myself round the 26.2 mile course on the 25th April 2010 to raise money for Spinal Research.

Apparently, 29 is the optimum age for female marathon runners so it seemed like a good year to stop saying “I could never do that” and actually get out there and do it!

I am running for an amazing charity- Spinal Research, which raises money to fund research into clinical treatments for spinal cord injury as well as vital basic science research. I am running for those who, at the moment, can’t run themselves and any money you generously donate will fund pioneering research into therapies that will one day restore movement and feeling and transform the lives of paralysed people. In the hope that in the future, they too will have the chance to run a marathon.

All money you donate goes directly to fund research. A number of colleagues, past and present, are undertaking groundbreaking research to develop potential therapies for patients paralysed by spinal cord injury with funding from Spinal Research grants. So I can honestly say that any money you donate will really go to the right people to produce results.
