London Parkland Parade · 10 September 2022
On Saturday 10th September me and my pal Alice are walking from Beckenham Place Park to Hampstead Heath, a route of 22 miles, taking in 10 London parks. We both wanted to do something positive this year and we are each fundraising for a worthy cause.
We believe that this will be a decent challenge for us both (we both have lung conditions meaning we aren't the best at exercise!) and we may well be in some fancy dress too.
My Dad has been having a lot of treatment over the past 18 months and has been well looked after by various NHS hospitals, but most recently has had chemotherapy and immunotherapy at St George's in Tooting. As well as working closely with MacMillan and treating around 4000 new patients every year, the hospital is actively involved in Cancer Research, including the immunotherapy trial that Dad is on.
Alice has seen the amazing work that Nordoff Robbins do in the community supporting people with music therapy and knows that the charity has been badly impacted by the pandemic and lost lots of fundraising opportunites in the last two years, so is hoping to be able to help in a small way towards that deficit.
If you could spare anything to spur us along on our walk we would be very grateful!
