In 2018 I ran Cardiff Half Marathon raising funds for the National Autistic society, having recently received an autism diagnosis for my twins who were age 3 at the time. It was a massive personal challenge for me and one I took great pride in achieving. 

Since 2018 my twins have attended Heronsbridge Special needs school where they are supported, encouraged and have made incredible progress in that 4 years to the credit of the school,it’s wonderful,dedicated staff and it’s ethos that ‘Together we can’. 

When the opportunity to return to Cardiff for another ‘go’ came up it felt only right to fundraise for a cause even closer to home (and my heart) and to be able to see directly the benefits of my efforts. The Friends of Heronsbridge, run by a dedicated group of volunteers raise funds all year round that are spent directly benefiting the children of the school through large and small projects to support their learning, enrichment and recreation time. An incredibly worthy cause for incredibly deserving children. So back to the Cardiff Half start line I go…’Together we can’…
