Story
So I am doing this because of a very special woman, who is terminally ill with cancer. Kate Gladden is one of a kind. She is caring, compassionate, loving and most of all loves life! Which is why this is such a truly devastating cause to be raising money for.
Kate is a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be leaving all of these people behind to grieve such a huge loss. Marie, Kate's daughter, is a close friend of mine - and through her I have been inspired to help in anyway I can. Kate is being cared for by St Barnabas - and they are doing an exceptional job, which is why Marie and her sister Lucy decided to fundraise and do this walk. I just can't even begin to think about how it would feel to lose my mum - which is one of the reasons why I am supporting them, and taking part in this 20 mile walk in June.
Everyone deserves end of life care, and by supporting this cause, you can help to enable this. It is something so close to all of our hearts right now, and has lifted Kate's spirits to see how many people are donating, and joining us on the walk.
Please spare any money you can to sponsor me on this walk, and to help others get hospice care, the way that Kate has.
Cancer is a very common condition. In 2011, almost 331,500 people in the UK were diagnosed with cancer. More than one in three people will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime - so donate now to help!
