As a parent, I can't even begin to imagine hearing that my daughter had cancer. Let alone being told that for cancer treatment, I'd have to travel to a specialist centre which could be over 60 miles away.

This however is a decision being faced by many parents each year. On average specialist cancer centres are a 60 mile journey for parents living in England, or 180 miles if they live in Scotland. To put into perspective, that's the distance from my hometown Sheffield to York (based on 60 miles) or to Lockerbie (based on 180 miles). 

Young Lives vs Cancer will use all donations raised to help parents with the financial burdens that come with accessing cancer treatment.
