Myself and one of my closest friends Ceri have decided to take on a huge challenge this year. The challenge which we both decided on was the London Marathon, eek! I myself am prettified as the furthest I have ever ran before is 13.1 miles (half Marathon). Ceri on the other hand has ran a little bit further but at the same time is still very much nervous.
The reason we are both doing this is for an amazing charity which is very much close to my heart. All of my family and friends know my beautiful son Jenson was sadly diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy early 2016.
For all the ones who do not know “Duchenne” is a muscle wasting condition which effects all muscles in the body and is also a life shortening illness.
I have never been one for words but really cannot describe the feeling it has brought upon us.
Ceri bless her has been like a rock to me and really wanted to take on this challenge beside me.
We have both been training hard, picked up a few injures on the way and the winter weather has been terrible. We still have 15 weeks to go and will not let anything get in our way of completing this challenge.
Ceri has been a huge help to me through this tough training regime and is planning on pushing me harder in coming weeks.
