I'm cycling round Ibiza (about 200km) over 2 days to raise money for GOSH.
Whilst I don't have any children of my own, I have enough little ones in my life through you lovely lot to be able to imagine the heartache of them becoming seriously ill and the amazing work that GOSH does.
This bike ride is specifically for HAIRraising and all money donated will go towards a new respiratory unit to be opened in 2017. For more information please visit http://www.gosh.org/gen/events-and-appeals/appeals/hairraising/.
I'm being joined on this advenure by Kat, Caz & Yas. Our fundraising pages will be joined shortly so if you know us all please consider one donation to any of us as a donation to all. The thought of the four of us taking to our sadles may induce some mirth in many of you and we promise to repay all donations with regular and amusing training updates and pictures. We'll also share some pics during the event itself so that you can see that we're not actually just experiencing Ibiza's finest night life.
One of my dearest and oldest friends (you know who you are) has commented that this doesn't necessarily seem like too strenuous a challenge but she is wrong and clealy hasn't experienced the pain of being sat on a saddle for a prolonged period of time. It hurts. However, to add to the challenge, I'm also pledging to run at least 200km between now and the event. Whilst this isn't a great deal and entirely achievable please remeber that during this time I will also be glued to my bike and attempting to hold down my job so finding time to meet both challenges will be tough. By way of proving this achievevment I'll be posting screen grabs from my running app. It's currently on 677km so i need to get to 877km.
The four of us will also be putting on a fundraising event towards the end of February so keep your eyes out for an invite coming soon!
So, please dig deep and support this amazing charity!
Thanks,
Hannah xx
