My family and I will be walking up Pen-y-ghent fell on Saturday 26th September. We are completing this walk in aid of Bowel Cancer UK in order to fundraise for much needed research and treatment. 

My Dad was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in October 2018 and has since undergone surgery and many rounds of chemotherapy treatment. Despite being swiftly screened and tested, unfortunately they found that the cancer had already spread to his liver. He has had excellent care and support from a team of specialists at Airedale hospital and we can't thank the staff enough. My amazing dad continues to live life with such a positive attitude and is an inspiration to us all.

Although he is not well enough to do the walk, he wanted to share how important it is not to ignore symptoms and to get checked as soon as possible. Early diagnosis (as with all cancers) is key, so please get checked if you have any concerns.
