As most of you know on the 25th March 2018 my beautiful daughter Layla silently entered this world and from that moment forward my heart was shattered into a million pieces.
Over the two and a half years I have received so much support from different charities, friends, family, midwifes, doctors, even complete strangers.
For the last 18 months there has been one charity in particular that has kept me going and that I owe my life to.
During the first 12 months of losing Layla life was one big numb blur and then the reality hit that Layla was never coming back and that I was going to have to face a lifetime of ‘what if’s’, ‘whys’ and thinking how things should be so different.
Watching the world move on whilst I was trapped in a reoccurring nightmare became too much. Luckily I was given the details of Edwards Trust and made the call to ask for help.
The help and support I have received from this charity has been amazing and in particular my counsellor Sue. I can honestly say you guys have saved me, and more than once. You’ve shown me that it is possible for there to be light back in my life and have offered me a safe place to work through my grief and find a way forward.
Edward’s Trust offer a holistic approach to supporting people through bereavement and loss. They offer counselling (1 to 1, as a couple, or as a family) support groups, and wellbeing therapies and social events.
They offer support to adults, children and young people who have had someone important to them die, or have a parent, significant carer, brother, sister, other family member or friend who is terminally ill.
The unique thing about Edwards Trust is, just like grief never ends neither does the support they offer you.
So as a way of saying thank for all their support, me and some of my fantastic family and friends are joining in on the ‘31 in 31’ challenge.
We will all be walking 3.1 miles a day for 31 days throughout October!
Each person that is doing the challenge is donating £20 and will need a Fitbit (or any other tracking device) or a smart phone to be able to track their miles each day.
For every mile that we don’t reach we will donate an extra £1. Midland Comms and AH Business Solutions have teamed together and have kindly offered to donate £1 for every mile we go over up to the value of £300.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
