Well it’s my first marathon and lucky me I won a place at London, those that know me know I already love running but training for a marathon is my biggest challenge yet. So why am I fundraising? 

Having had Mental health challenges myself in the past and being a mum I know how vital counselling services in general but especially for children can be.  I am not a big money fundraiser but I know every small penny can make a big difference. That’s why I have decided to give to this charity where I hope your donations can make a change to a young persons life and provide that vital emotional support they may need. 

YPI Counselling is a registered charity offering confidential counselling to young people aged 11-25 in the Basingstoke and Deane area. 

YPI Counselling relies heavily on grants, voluntary donations and fundraising to pay for the cost of the service. We do not charge young people anything for their counselling sessions and we want to keep it that way. On average it costs £40 per hour of counselling which equates to about £200 per young person for a course of sessions. By donating £200 you could quite literally change someone’s life and create a better life for those around them.  Every penny donated really does make a difference and enables us to support young people from the Basingstoke community that are in need of mental health and emotional support.
