Story
WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!! Steve and I completed the Memory Walk South Marathon yesterday. It took us 9 hours and 15 minutes walking from Stonehenge to the Avebury ring via one of the chalk horses. Only 3 showers, despite rain storms being predicted earlier in the week. The weather was as good as we could hope for. We managed an initial average speed of 3.5 mph but by the end we were on 2mph. Our feet today are a sight for sore eyes, blisters underneath for Steve and a right heal that is ripped to shreds for me. But it was truely worth it.
Thanks to all our family and friends who have donated so far we have raised a great sum of money, but for those who were thinking we will donate once they have acheived the target it is not too late! And WE DID IT!! The Alheimer's fight continues long after our wounds have healed. So please feel free to donate now. We want to help stop other families suffer in the way that both Steve's and mine have.
Another great big thank you to Mike and Suz and Nessie and Lydia for helping us with practical backup of looking after the children enabling us to do the walk together
