Story
This is the 5th year staff and students from Hampstead School have taken part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride on behalf of the British Heart Foundation. We are the only school to train and enter a team of students and staff on this world famous ride. 60 miles from London to the coast is a huge achievement and reflects the students' resilience - not only on the day itself with several hours in the saddle (including the notorious Ditchling Beacon climb), but also in the early morning gym sessions that have been an essential part of building both the physical and mental strength to undertake this adventure. This year we have students from Year 10 and 12 taking part, as well as a hardy bunch of committed staff.
Our aim is to challenge students to take part in something that will help raise awarness of sustainable travel and healthy living, whilst at the same time raising funds for an excellent cause. Arriving at the seafront in Brighton having left London in the early hours of Sunday morning is something of a rite of passage, and an experience that our young riders will never forget.
