2019 Running Challenges · 14 February 2019

Story

The Boat Refugee Foundation works to provide medical care, psychological support and education to the people of the Moria refugee camp on Lesbos. They do excellent work in a resource poor setting and work hard to overcome all the challenges posed by the environment. They have a committed team of volunteers which I have been lucky enough to be part of on two occasions now.

BRF rely on donations. Providing care and support is expensive. That is why I am fundraising for them this year.

Challenges

Glentress Trail Half Marathon - 23/2/19

First challenge of the year is a trail half marathon across the mountain bike terrain of Glentress in the Scottish Borders. 21 kilometres distance with 770 metres (2500ft) of ascent included for fun.

Edinburgh Marathon - 26/5/19

Anyone who remembers my propping career will know I'm not a fan of running. So 26 miles will be a doddle. The aim will be 4 hours, reality may take a lot longer.

f you feel inclined to donate, I will hugely appreciate it, BRF will be very grateful. Ultimately the people of Moria will benefit.
