Story
Thank you again for the fantastic support with my successful world record attempt in Eddies memory for the ICR at the London marathon.
For the last 7 years we have raised money for the ICR as part of our industry efforts that culminate each year at The Climb Of life.
Thanks to you and our suppliers Hamelin has become a serious contributor and we are back in the lake district this coming Friday to climb Blencathra. Risk assessment suggests climbing as Eddie might not be wise!
Hopefully we will be blessed with good weather, although November in the lake district is not normally a stroll in the sunshine!
We are close to our £7,500 target, so if you have not yet made a donation to the wonderful Institute of Cancer Research, we would appreciate anything you are able to give to help us reach our summit!
How your support helps
Here’s how your donation could help the ICR take the fight to cancer:
£1,000 could buy a magnifying lens for a cutting-edge microscope, absolutely essential for cancer cure research in the lab.
£500 could pay for a small liquid nitrogen tank to preserve cells at the right temperature, making sure that important findings aren’t lost.
£350 could fund a student’s tuition fees for a month as they help explore new breakthroughs in cancer research.
£250 could pay for a special fridge to store samples and materials for the hundreds of experiments needed to research cancer.
£150 could buy a vortex machine to mix liquids in the lab to the standard required for experiments to be effective.
£125 could buy antibodies, used to identify proteins on cancer cells, an essential part of the research.
£50 could pay for special cell culture liquid to grow cancer cells in the lab for testing.
Even £10 could help by paying for 40 microscope slides, used for analysing cells during the research.
Please donate whatever you can afford – any donation takes us one step closer to finding a cure.
