Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Please help me to smash my target and raise as much as possible for JDRF- a charity committed to funding research for type 1 diabetes.

This charity holds a special place in my heart because of my big sister, Elora (pictured above). In 2017, Elora spent 5 days in the ICU. She was unknowingly living with a life-threatening condition for months. In ketoacidosis, her body was shutting down. At age 24, my sister was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease in which the body's own cells destroy every insulin transporting cell in the pancreas. Today, Elora stands as a strong yet beautiful fighter against this horrible disease. She has an incredible support system of friends and family to help her, and organisations like JDRF, eradicate this condition someday.

I'm participating in The Royal Parks half marathon to raise money for JDRF to help those living with type 1 diabetes like my sister. This is my first half marathon and I'm happy that my first race is dedicated to my sister.
