Story
On Saturday 20th September I'll be taking on the "Greifenseelauf" – a half marathon that will see me run round the Greifensee lake near Zurich. I'm running to raise money for the MS Society – a charity that is leading the charge in beating Multiple Sclerosis once and for all. And, by giving a donation here, however small, you can play a part too.
Beating MS is a cause close to my heart. I was a young teenager when my Mum was diagnosed with MS. If, at that time, I'd appreciated how serious the disease is, I'd have been even more scared that I was on hearing the news. Thankfully, my mum is one of the luckier ones. Thanks to cutting-edge drugs and a positive attitude, the progress of the disease has been slow for her so far. But there are many others who aren't so fortunate. Mobility, speech and memory can all be badly affected by this neurological condition. And, at the moment, there is no cure.
But organisations like the MS Society want to change this. And every donation helps them do just that. While running a half marathon is nothing compared to the challenges that MS sufferers face every day, Both I and the MS Society really value any support you can give.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. It’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Whatever you can give will be hugely appreciated. So, donate now and spend the rest of your day knowing that you've done something to help beat a disease that affects over 100,000 people in the UK alone. Plus, you'll also have given me the boost I need to head out for another training run.
Thank you for your support,
Mike
