Story
Thanks so much to everyone who has donated so far - it means such a lot to both me and Jon's family :D
As you may know, Survival of the Fittest wasn't possible at the last minute, but I am now booked onto the Manchester course on November 8th, which sounds to be tougher, wetter and colder than the original one!! I'm more than a little scared, but the thought of donations will keep me going - wish me luck!!
*********
This time four years ago I ran the Robin Hood half marathon for no reason other than a bit of a challenge. This year I’ll not only be running the Robin Hood half marathon, but also competing in the Men’sHealth Survival of the Fittest, and I’m hoping to improve the lives of others in the process. Several of my friend’s lives have been touched by the pervasive disease cystic fibrosis (CF), which takes their loved ones from them much, much too soon. The care they receive in hospital makes a huge difference to their ability to live their life to the full, just like Jon did before he passed away.
So please, if you can, help me raise money for the CF ward at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester Hospitals Charity, to help them continue the great work that they do. This will make all the miles of running, and the 10k of muddy obstacles (see below) so much more worthwhile!
Thank you very much in advance. Love Lucy xx
