Story
On Friday 20th April 2012 I will be shaving my head, yes, shaving my head!!!
Ok, ok, I won't be shaving my whole head. That would be silly!
I will be shaving a section of my head and dying the Palestinian Flag into the shaved section.
My aim is to raise awareness to Israels illegal occupation of Palestine.
For those of you who don't know, the occupation began in 1948 and is ongoing today. So that's more than 60 years!!!
I also hope to raise some money for a charity called MAP, which stands for Medical Aid for Palestinians. They do fabulous work in getting the Palestinians the Medical Treatment they desperately need.
I know that the occupation of Palestine doesn't affect very many of my friends directly and it is not something you see on the news very often but that doesn't make it any less real. It is a very worth while cause and something I strongly believe in.
I would like to raise AT LEAST £500 for MAP and this is where all of you lovely people come in to the equation! Come on, put your hands in your pockets and sponsor me. Every penny helps :)
A little history about the occupation!
Israel has been forcing Palestinians from their homes to make way for Israeli settlements since the British Mandate of Palestine was terminated by the UN in May 1948. Innocent Palestinians (women & children aswel as men) have been dragged from their homes, beaten, thrown in Israeli prisons, bombed and tortured on a daily basis by Israeli Armed forces and Israeli Settlers.
Israel violates every single human right imaginable and so many UN laws yet they continue to get away with their appalling treatment of the Palestinian people.
I will add pics of my head when the deed has been done =D
