I'm excited to have the opportunity to run with Kathrine Switzer and the rest of the team and raise money for 261 Fearless. I saw a documentary about Kathrine and have been inspired by her ever since. I was able to meet her at the Washington DC Cherry Blossom 10 mile Run expo earlier this year. She had some very kind words about my upcoming marathon, signed my bib and snapped a photo with me. It's incredible how the world of running was changed for women just because she wanted to run the Boston marathon when she was told she couldn't. She started 261 Fearless a couple of years ago to empower and unite women through running. The goal is to break down the barriers of geography and create a global community for women runners of all abilities to support, encourage, and inspire each other towards a positive sense of self and fearlessness. I hope to reach at least $500 to help continue empowering and uniting women together through running.
