Story

It all started in June 2019 when Warren started hiking to get fit for the Great Wall of China Trek arranged by Pendleside Hospice which he signed up for which was scheduled for September 2020, initially rearranged for September 2021, and now rescheduled again for April 2022.

Craig and Glynn started hiking with Warren at weekends in 2020 and it was then Glynn mentioned he always wanted to do the Hadrians Wall Trek, which we agreed to do in May 2021. Just to add another challenge to the trek Glynn also advised that he wanted to wild camp along the way during the trek which eventually after a bit of discussion and buying the one person tents and camping gear we agreed. However, after two  hikes and overnight wild camps at Ambleside, Lake District and Kielder Water Forest, Northumberland with each of os carrying about 18kgs in our backpacks we realised it was too much weight to carry for 15 miles each day for a week. We are currently reviewing lightening the load by minimising our gear to the essentials we need to carry.
