Yes, we made it!!
Three lawyers in the Joint Legal Team, Shirley Bradbeer, Katherine Lacey and Simon Leslie took part in a 4-day cycle ride from 24-28 June in aid of vulnerable children in care.
Starting in Newcastle, our route took us past Kielder Water, up to the Scottish border, down to Carlisle and then back to Newcastle following the line of Hadrian's Wall. Total distance covered was over 190 miles and as mere southerners, the Northumbrian hills were a challenge!! The countryside is spectacular, very sparsely populated and mostly by sheep.
The ride was on behalf of the Who Cares? Trust, a charity funding advocacy, information and campaigns on behalf of the 60,000+ children in children's homes and foster care.
Our heartfelt thanks to all who have generously supported us and the Trust in their important work.
If you have not yet contributed, and would like to, that would be very welcome. We know the 50 cyclists on this ride have already raised over £14,000 and it would be great to see that total go even higher.
If you have not used JustGiving before, it is (so says the blurb here) simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks indeed.
Shirley, Katherine and Simon
