Hadley's Dales Way Ultra-marathon

In May 2018 I will attempt to run The Dales Way - an 82mile route from Windermere (Cumbria) to Ilkley (Yorkshire) -- in under 20 hours.
I am doing this because in 2001 I lost my Mother to Lung Cancer, and before that my Father to Cancer in 1997. As I watched them suffer, with very little complaint, I was struck with how indiscriminate the illness is and how it can expose our own helplessness. I want to complete this run to honour, in some small way, their own grace and grit, and to support the research of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. I also want to show my four and half year old daughter that you can achieve anything when you plan, prepare and dedicate yourself to something.
