Story
I strongly believe I shouldn't ask people for sponsorship unless it is going to significantly hurt me to meet the goal. Believe me a Tough Mudder (10-12 mile obstacle course designed to test all-around strength, stamina, team work and mental grit - think mud, ice, electric shocks) is a huge challenge, particularly for an ageing desk jockey like myself. Whilst I am motivated to improve my fitness, any external factors beyond that will be a massive help - which is where you come in - knowing you've pledged will keep us focussed. I wanted to make sure that I raise money for a great cause so I've joined up with good friend Mark Bridgman (that fine physical specimen) to take on everything Tough Mudder can throw at us on May 3rd.
We aim to raise money for Epilepsy Action in memory of Max Miller Prior (4th August 2009-21st June 2011). Mark's partner Gail lost her 22 month old son, Max, to a rare condition called Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).
Max was a beautiful, happy & loveable little boy who brought a smile to anyone who knew him. He really did live to his name and live his life to the "MAX".
To commemorate Max's life a group of family, friends and colleagues have come together as TeamMAX to raise as much as possible for epilepsy charities.
My employer (LV=) has also agreed to match donations, so every pound you give will go that much further.
You know the rest of this blurb but here it is anyway...
Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details will be safe, they'll never send them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity.
Thanks in advance for anything you can give. Mike and Mark.
