In memory of Alison Kirk

Newcastle Racecourse Stampede · 19 October 2019 to 20 October 2019 ·
On 19th October 2019, 6 members of Groundwork's youth team will take part in a 10k cross country assault course.
They are doing this in memory of a much loved friend and colleague, Alison Kirk.
Alison had a long and hard battled with Metastatic breast cancer, that has spread throughout her body. Her diagnoses was 1st May 2015, with a prognosis of only 6 months which she hid from everybody. She fought hard every single day, but never let the pain show to many people, she even kept working up until the end.
On 30th April 2018 after nearly to the day, a 3 year long battle, exceeding the 6 months prognosis, she passed away extremely peacefully, she never gave up mentally but her body couldn’t take anymore. Still as she was slipping away from us she tried to make everybody else happy. She’s fought to long and had amazed doctors and specialist.
Alison was supported throughout her journey by Macmillan nurses and spoke highly of the support that she and her family were given throughout. After she passed away they were amazing with Allison's family, offering so much support and counselling. The Groundwork Youth Team are trying to raise as much money as possible to enable more people to be supported in the way Alison and her family were.
Please if you can donate to such an amazing cause - every penny is truly appreciated and goes a long long way.
Much appreciated,
Kathryn, Joanne, Steph, Steven, Phil and Kirstie.
