Story
We are running Plymouth half marathon on the the 5th September to raise funds to help Plymouth Hospitals Charity support Derriford Hospital.
Annie: Pete was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and throughout has been wonderfully supported by the teams in Derriford Oncology department. We want to run to support Derriford and their research into cancer treatment so that fewer people will have to hear those dreaded words 'I'm sorry there is nothing more we can do now'.
Gwen: Ciaran, my daughter's partner, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer aged 26 in October 2019. He has since undergone two major operations and subsequent nuclear medicine treatment at Derriford Hospital, where he continues to receive ongoing care. It is thanks to the highly skilled and dedicated staff that he has been able to get back to normality and the active outdoor life he shares with Laura and Max (the dog). We want to raise funds as a way of saying thank you for everything they have done and continue to do for Ciaran.
Thanks so much for your support. .
