Last year we raised GBP 1600 after a 100k bike ride (which left our posterior rather sore )which helped us to fund school fees for 21 children attending the school.

This year we have challenged ourself once again and decided to complete a trek that might break our backs and legs...The trek takes place on the 24th Jan 2012. We will be starting the trek from an altitude of 1500 m gradually ascending to over 2600m, passing through sholas (high altitude rain forests) and grasslands which are typical to the higher areas of the Western Ghats .  We will ascend Meesapulimala - the second highest peak in the Western Ghats.

All this is for the underpriviledged kids who study with us-we plan to use the funds in many ways

* we want to collect funds to be able to pay for the school fees and books for those whose parents are struggling financially (earning les than GBP 100) for the new school year 2012-13. There is a list of 50-60 children that we can support.

For a child studying in Lower Kindergarden to Year 2 the annual school fee for the year is 5000 Rupees ( GBP 70)

For a child studying in Year 3 to Year 7 the fees are 5900 Rupees ( GBP 82)

For a child studying in Year 7 to Year 10 the fee is 6500 Rupees (GBP 90)

*buy sports equipment and kits for the school

*buy school text books for the Manipur children as well as a uniform for them
