Story
On the 3rd of July 2011 we will be celebrating GVI Keralas 1st Birthday. In honour of our wonderful year with the Auxilium School we want to give something back to the school and have decided to give full study scholarships to some of the really poor children who are struggling to pay for school fees.
So support us as we take on the challenge of completing a 100km bike ride from Allepey to Fort Kochi for raising awareness towards the importance of education and also to raise money for these kids. We will do this on the 8th July 2011 starting at 7.30 am and ending at 6.30 pm.
We are targeting to fund the years education for atleast 50 children from the Auxilium School. Each of the selected children come from homes that have a total family income of less than 6000 Rupees a month, have an average of atleast 4 family members to support, rent and other bills to pay. Some also have only single parents earning wages, whilst others have broken families or medical conditions that dont allow them to work. The pressure on these children to leave school and earn a living is huge and we want to avoid these children from dropping out of school and missing out on the chance of having an education that is so important for their future.
For a child studying in Lower Kindergarden to Year 2 the annual school fee for the year is 5000 Rupees ( GBP 70)
For a child studying in Year 3 to Year 7 the fees are 5900 Rupees ( GBP 82)
For a child studying in Year 7 to Year 10 the fee is 6500 Rupees (GBP 90)
Please support us with whatever amount you think is right. Every little helps to make a difference :)
Thank You
