Story
This year we have a group of determined riders who are taking on the toughest of the Grand Tours
What is the daily average: 164km / 102 Miles per day!
With over 51,300 metres of climbing, this is the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest SIX times in just 3 weeks.
A brutal, tough, uncompromising and relentless challenge.
We have assembled 15 riders who have committed to riding the Giro: taking a month away from work, funding absolutely everything themselves to ensure that every single pound raised goes to The Toy Appeal.
The Toy Appeal's aim is to provide a total of 12,000 Christmas sacks this year:
Social workers, schools, women’s refuges, food banks and drop-in centres can refer a child or family to The Toy Appeal to make sure that they have presents to open on Christmas morning. Sadly they are unable to take requests directly from parents or carers.
Every child deserves to experience the magic of Christmas and The Toy Appeal steps in to help Father Christmas do this for thousands of children every year.
Our aim is to provide 2,023 sacks towards The Toy Appeal's target this year.
Each £25 raised will provide a Christmas sack for a child who would otherwise have missed out on Christmas morning.
On average, each child will receive 8 carefully selected different items in their toy sack.

The Toy Appeal was started in 2013 by Chris & Dee Drake when they provided Christmas sacks to 500 children. To date, they have provided 42,000+ Christmas sacks to disadvantaged children in the UK. The Toy Appeal is run entirely by volunteers whose mission is to ensure all children have presents to open on Christmas morning and that all children experience the magic of Christmas. Each child receives a red sack filled with 8 items suitable to their age. £25 will provide a toy sack for a child. Together, lets Give a Child a Christmas.
