Story
G.R.O.W. is a new charity dedicated to designing, building and, crucially, maintaining gardens in Lincolnshire hospitals.
Recent personal experience highlighted to me how badly this is needed, when I had to visit a sick relative in Lincoln General over a period of two months.
The positive link between greenspace and health are increasingly well documented but it is hard for a cash strapped NHS to make the most of their outdoor spaces.
That's where G.R.O.W. come in. They are experienced garden makers who have decided to use their skills to promote well-being by creating gardens in hospitals.
Their efforts will benefit us all.
* Occasionally Rutland Water is closed to swimming due to algal blooms. Should this happen on the 11th August my 4km will be undertaken at a lake near Lincoln.
