Story
HADRIANS WALL WALK FOR CHARITY: From August 24th - 30th I am walking the Wall from Wallsend in Newcastle to Carlise in Cumbria, crossing the beautiful Hexham Constituency as I go. On the way I hope to meet lots of locals, promote our tourist businesses and raise some money for 2 amazing charities:
The Tynedale Hospice is a great local charity and the National Neurological Hospital in Queens Square, London, is the hospital that so recently saved my life.
My Consultant assures me that I will be better than new, and that there will be no long term after effects. I am totally symptom free and feel very well. It is now simply a question of building up my fitness and stamina, and that's where the walk comes in. On the way I am meeting loads of key local interest groups from the Police and B&B owners to the Ramblers
I am holding surgeries along the way and have also rented Village Halls on the way, to hold "ASK GUY" events where local people can come along and quiz myself and local councillors on any issue
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. You can follow my progress on facebook or at the blog: guyopperman.co.uk
