Story
Almost ten years ago, on 26th April 2011, I collapsed in the House of Commons following a debate on the Budget.
I was rushed to St Thomas’ Hospital, and whilst overlooking Parliament from my hospital bed was diagnosed with a brain tumour, requiring a major operation to remove it.
10 years on, I'm now fit, healthy and all clear - but continue to do more to raise awareness of this silent killer.
Since my experience, I have campaigned for awareness of brain tumours and have raised money to support charities that support patients, and provide awareness of this disease.
To mark 10 years since my diagnosis, I am proposing the 10for10 Challenge between 8 March - 26th April to personally raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity and all the amazing work they do, but also to encourage others to raise funds and donate to the charity closest to their hearts by doing 10 bits of exercise and donating £10 to their charity of choice.
