Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page

Having previously visited Africa and witnessed first hand the poverty and horrendous conditions that these people have to endure on a daily basis, I was humbled to be given the opportunity to raise funds for this tremendous charity and ultimately return to the country to assist with building new homes in Salima, Malawi for vulnerable children and families living in very poor conditions.

Here are the challenges I am involved in:

Challenge 1: Great Scottish Walk and Run Festival - 10km

On Sunday 26th June I will be running 10km around the infamous Arthurs Seat and Holyrood Park in Edinburgh.

Challenge 2: 100 Holes of Golf in a Day

On Thursday 30th June at Elie Golf Club our team are attempting 100 holes of golf in a day. This activity will tee off at 4.30am and we’re hoping to complete it by 10.30pm. 100 holes is five and a half rounds of golf which will be played over 35,000 yard (around 20 miles).

Challenge 3: Global Village Volunteers Trip to Malawi

The Global Village volunteers trip to Salima, Malawi is part of Habitat for Humanity’s Hope Builders Campaign.

From the18th-25th September I, along with 15 colleagues from Miller Homes, will be working together as a team in Malawi to build much needed new homes for the poorest and most vulnerable.

Any donations will be gratefully received and your generosity will improve living conditions, touch lives and build hope throughout communities less fortunate than your own. Please visit again soon for regular updates on my journey.

Thank you

Gus

About the charity

We believe decent homes are the heartbeat of strong communities and so we also fight for land rights for women, upgrade urban slums and informal settlements, improve access to water and sanitation, and help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.
