Gurkha Warriors’ TOUGH GUY NETTLE WARRIOR
Capt Kamal Khapunglimbu, Sgt Bishwahang Rai, Cpl Santosh Gurung and Cpl Praveen Rai from Gurkha Company Catterick are undertaking TOUGH GUY Challenge on 12 Jul 14 in Wolverhampton in order to raise money for Army Benevolent Fund (ABF). Team Captain Cpl Praveen is the lead who has been working diligently to set the condition and secure its success.
BEGINNING:The initiative to raise money for Charity began while we were having conversation about our experiences in Afghanistan: experience of facing real bullets and experience of facing real enemy. All participants have completed a minimum of 2 tours in Afghanistan and during that period they have all witnessed casualties who suffered fatal injuries and life changing injuries, and in addition have handled fallen comrades occasionally. Those incidents are deep within us and can never be forgotten. Our friends (injured soldiers) face a very difficult time ahead, they face the challenge of learning to live in a very different way and still continue with the fact that they will never have the same life back again. It must be extremely difficult for the families, friends and relatives to be accustomed to the new way of life. Our sympathy and our support is always with them and we feel for all the injured soldiers and their immediate families. We regard ourselves among the very lucky ones that have returned to their families safely.
Therefore in the memory of our comrades we have decided to raise some money for the injured soldiers not only in the Brigade of Gurkhas but for all the injured soldiers in the British Army through TOUGH GUY challenge. We dedicate this to all our fallen comrades.
All the money raised will go directly to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.
There are two ways you can help this project:
1) With money: All the money donated will directly go the ABF and you are supporting all the injured soldiers not me.
2) By sharing the project with your friends, family and colleagues on Twitter, Facebook, via email or just by talking about it.
