Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most of you already know that I had a serious and devastating bus accident on 28 September 2020 at the junction of Regent Street and Oxford Circus. I had a through knee amputation with massive degloving injury of the whole right leg up to the right flank, across the circumference of the buttock and lower back. Also my right hand had significant soft tissue injury, and some spinal fractures. The skin from my left leg was used for the split skin grafts on 3 occasions. I underwent 13 surgeries, including the skin grafts. I remained in hospital for 7 months.
On discharge, I underwent physiotherapy treatment at the Queen Mary's Hospital where I was fitted with my first prosthesis, and learned to walk.
My goal was to be able to stand up and walk before the year end of the accident, and I am glad to say, I did achieve it. I am now able to walk with a stick.
I joined the Limbless Association's fund raising event to help support their vision of empowering all amputees to lead an independent and fulfilled lives.
I thank my dear children, family, relatives and umpteen friends who were instrumental in offering prayers for my speedy recovery.
