Story
SoBS came into being 30 years ago with the opening of the first group in Hull, and has now grown into a national charity with 55 support groups around the UK. Our Guildford group launched in 2014 and it's a lifeline for people bereaved by the suicide of a loved one. As with all charities SoBS relies on donations so this April we’re joining together for the ‘30 miles for 30 years’ challenge to help raise vital funds. So far, our team of walkers includes Lisa, Sarah, Louise, Amy (& doggie Jess), Marie Pascal, Karen, Carmel, Phil & Debbie, Suzanne, Kelly, Mel, Caron, Christina and.... We’re each committing to walk one mile every day for the 30 days of April, and raise funds for SoBS in the process. We’re walking to honour the memory of our lost loved ones: Anders, William, Simon, George, Ben, Josh, Samuel, Lee, Phil, Rob and ... all our sons, brothers, fathers and husbands, daughters, sisters, mothers and wives; cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, and colleagues who have died by suicide. Thank you so much for supporting us, and for your donation.
