Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
Very recently, we lost a very integral part of our family to cancer. My stepdad was an amazing, considerate, supportive person who meant a lot to so many people, and was known for his wicked sense of humour.
The Severn Hospice gave him incredible care and support, and helped ease his suffering during his stay at the Hospice. The staff were fantastic, incredibly thoughtful and helpful. Paul had wanted my mum to be his bride, and the Severn Hospice granted their wish by helping to set up their wedding on their own grounds and providing a reception too. After Matt, my brother, had mistakenly referred to Paul as my mum's 'boyfriend' while they were engaged, in true Paul fashion, as soon as they were wed he turned to Matt and whispered 'I'm not just the b****y boyfriend now, am I Matt!!!' As was his sense of humour.
The Severn Hospice provide care for many people who live with complex and progressive illnesses, and are completely separate from the NHS. The costs are high to keep an independent service like the Hospice running.
On the 15th July this year, 3pm at the Yorkshire House, I will be shaving my hair to grade 4 from below shoulder length to help raise money to support the Hospice for all their hard work. The hair will be collected and donated to be made into a wig for cancer sufferers. Anyone that knows me knows how much my hair means to me!!! It's what makes me Guida!! Paul once played an April Fools joke on me, telling me that he'd seen an advert requiring a hair model. Well, Paul, now someone else can model my hair!
If you could donate to this amazing cause and help support the Hospice's aim to sustain the quality of life of people suffering from distressing illnesses, I would be very, very grateful.
Thank you
