Story
A group of 12 Guernsey friends have joined together to raise money for Make-a-Wish. The charity supports children living in Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Sark, Herm and the UK.
The charity has a personal touch for Jamie and Michelle Roussel. Their daughter, at the age of 6 years old, was diagnosed with cancer. After a long fight, many hospital visits, operations, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and life away from family and friends, Make-a-Wish granted their daughter a wish! Their daughter asked to visit Father Christmas In Lapland. The wish was granted and it gave the family a chance to have time away from hospital visits - it gave them an opportunity to have a bit of normality - which was very important and much needed.
Make-A-Wish UK grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold. We want to transform the lives of 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish!
