Story
Vikki Stewart, Jenni Loveridge, Vikki Hammond and Andy Catford will be running the Windsor Half Marathon on 28th September in aid of Shine Trust.
SHINE exists to help disadvantaged children and young people. We support programmes that concentrate on core educational subjects. Education provides choices. By funding best practice educational support projects, SHINE is working to ensure that the participants can have choice and control in their lives.
SHINE operates as a business, rigorously evaluating the organisations and projects we fund to ensure the most effective intervention into young lives and the best possible value for money.
SHINE funds and develops educational programmes to help disadvantaged children make the most of their time at school. These include specialist after school clubs, complementary classes on Saturdays and intensive literacy and numeracy support sessions.
Some projects respond to the challenge of children with special educational needs, who require specific help to bring them up to speed. Some help underachievers, where a little more attention will enable them to do much better. And others stretch gifted children who want to see just how good they can really be.
We want every penny of your donations to reach these projects so our trustees cover all our annual operating costs.

So far training is going well with us running 8.5 miles on sunday in some pretty strong head winds thanks to Hurricane Bertha coming past the UK.
All is looking well for us to finish the 13 miles in under 2 hours at our current pace which would be great!
